What are some outdoor grilling safety tips?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Safety first: Know your grill. Be sure equipment is not broken. Know how to safely light a propane grill. Do not have grills in closed areas...They need ventilation. Keep small children away. Do not squirt lighter fluid on a burning charcoal fire as the fire can follow the fluid back up in to the bottle and burn you. Best not to do anything drunk...Including grilling.
