A member asked:

What will it mean if my menstrual blood is brown?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Older blood: In a normal menstrual cycle, bleeding occurs within the uterus. Depending on how long the blood remains in the uterus, it will turn from bright red to various shades of rust to brown. Brown menstrual blood just indicates older blood than blood that just came out of a blood vessel.
