A member asked:

What are the pros and cons of transdermal delivery of hormone replacement?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Lower dosages: Pros- more convenient with lower estrogen dosage that does not make a pass through the liver prior to action just like trans-vaginal meds.. Cons: the same contraindicaitons as oral agents such as dvt, cancer, etc. Swimmers often have trouble keeping the patches on.
