Many: There are numerous causes of chest pain including: trauma, heart attack, pulmonary embolism, aortic dissection, pneumonia, pleurisy, shingles, muscle spasms, coughing, costochondritis- just to name a few. It's important to see your doctor or go the er if you develop chest pain.
