What imaging might i get in the emergency room (er)?

Depends on symptoms: X-rays or radiographs are the most frequent images obtained in the er and are used for diagnosing fractures and pneumonia. With severe trauma (ex car accident) ct is frequently used as well as for conditions such as appendicitis, kidney stones, and abdominal conditions. Ultrasound is used for conditions such as gallstones, pregnancy. Mri may be used for evaluation of the brain or spine.
