CP: No, cerebral palsy is not considered to be a genetic disorder. CP consists of a multifactorial group of nonprogressive clinical syndromes that cause motor and postural problems. The main conditions associated with increasing the chance of having CP are intrapartum hypoxia, prematurity, intrauterine growth restriction, intrauterine infection and antepartum hemorrhage.
