If parents of kids with trisomy tend to older, what happens when they die?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

"older": Parents may be 36 - 40. Many of these children have life expectancies shorter thsan their parents survival. They can grow to live independently, but they may have siblings or social support services appropriate for the care, comfort and safety.
