In general, elevated t can lead to unwanted facial/body hair, deepening of voice & clitoromegaly in women. In both genders. Depends!: Women can have elevated levels b/c they just tend to produce more than average. Or b/c some tumor is producing excess t. Or perhaps they're rubbing it off their partner who's taking t cream/gel/lotion/solution. Polycystic ovary syndrome is associated w/excess t. The question that needs to be asked is why was the test ordered? And what did she say to make the doctor think of t?
