What are the symptoms of newborn eye damage from chlamydia and can i prevent them in my baby?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Conjunctivitis: The most common form of chlamydial eye damage to a newborn infant is conjunctivitis, and it's treated with Erythromycin opthalmic ointment at time of birth. Premature birth, increase risk of fetal loss, abruption of the placenta and other congenital afflictions are of more concern in a woman with chlamydial infection during pregnancy.
