Maybe menstrual...: Vaginal "bright red bleeding" near the time of one's expected menstrual period is presumed to be the menstrual period. One can wait to see if next month has a normal period. Otherwise, if too worried, a urine pregnancy test done correctly gives a reliable result 3 weeks after sex (3 weeks after when conception might have happened) or 1 week after having an unusual period or missing a period.
