Antibiotic-resistant: We all are staph carriers, because staph is naturally on everybody's skin. If a doctor tells a patient she is a "staph carrier" he usually means the patient is carrying a strain of staph bacteria that is resistant to certain antibiotics. Such strains are in all communities throughout the U.S., so a person can catch an antibiotic-resistant strain by touching persons or objects that have the strain.
