Acute back pain: Acute back pain can be caused by any number of issues, such as disc degeneration or herniated disc or muscle sprain. The good news is that the vast majority of acute back pain episodes will resolve with time and conservative treatment (i.e. NSAIDs) and progressive activity. The constipation probably just made the back pain worse. If you don't improve over time, then see your physician.
