No need: One of the benefits of Yaz (drospirenone and ethinyl estradiol) over Yasmin or other 21/7 pills is that you do not have to suffer heavy periods. It is designed to reduce or eliminate the menstrual cycle. This is how it works. You are welcome to switch to a traditional pill will likely force bleeding but then you are missing out on the nice side effect of cycle elimination offered by the 24/8 pills.
