Examples: Screening tests would be physical examination and mammogram. A diagnostic test would be a biopsy of a suspicious finding on physical examination or mammogram.

What you look for: If you never had a test or do not hve a finding in a physical exam, it is a screening. If you are tring to get information about a palpable mass or have an abnormal test, the following tests re diagnostic. They are being use to determine that cause of an abnormality.
