HPV: The datât has not been studied on the effects in older patients so technically your doctor is correct. Go to your pediatrician, who is probably more familiar with this situation

No longer too old: It turns out you’re no longer too old: the FDA recently (October 2018) approved it for people up to age 45 years. This older age group has not yet been added to the official adult immunization schedule, so it’s possible that you may still get resistance, but many more doctors are willing to prescribe the HPV vaccine now. Most insurances don’t cover it, though, so you’ll have to pay cash.
