A member asked:

Been on birth control for 10 months. take it every night at 9:30, few nights took it at 11:30, missed my period and still nothing, could i be pregnant?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Unlikely: Once you have been on birth control pills for 2 weeks, you are protected. Having said that, no method is perfect. Birth control pills have a small failure rate. At least 1% of women on the pill get pregnant every year. Some women get lighter and lighter periods on the pill, and some don't get periods at all. But if it's unusual for you to not get a period, then you should check a pregnancy test.
