May be abnormal: AUB, or abnormal uterine bleeding has several causes and evaluation starts with a physical exam and likely an ultrasound. Some blood tests may be ordered to evaluate hormone levels related to your thyroid and pituitary gland. A hysteroscopy to visualize the inside of the uterine cavity and allow for biopsies will ultimately aid in making the correct diagnosis.
