Lithobid (lithium carbonate): Is a form of slower acting lithium taken twice daily (hence the term bid) for acute manic depression, prevention of recurrence of manic depression, and sometimes as an adjunctive medication with antidepressants for depression. Response usually evident by 2-4 weeks of tx.
