got a cough, chest congestion and lost my voice. took penicillin and mucinex (guaifenesin). my voice is back & cough calmed down but still have mucous in my chest?

Post nasal drip?: Your persistent mucous may be due to post-infection inflammation in your airways (the war is over, but the battlefield is still scarred) or postnasal drip. Try using a Netipot and Humidifier by your bed - change water daily. Keep your head of bed elevated. Seek medical attention if persists > 2wks or asap if worsens.
