Discharge: Takes ~ 1 week of BCPs to have effective contraception. It takes 2-3 weeks to detect a pregnancy; for the first 5 days after conception the embryo is moving down the Fallopian tubes to the uterus, takes a few more days to implant /develop sufficient placenta/ HCG be detected. May be vaginitis, yeast(itchy) ,trich (itchy), BV or myco/ureoplasma. If no period in 3 weeks check HCG. F/U w/Doc

Discharge : Breakthrough bleeding or spotting can occur when starting or restarting a pill very commonly. However your symptoms could also represent a vaginal infection such as a yeast infection with the itching, but also a more serious infection. You could try starting with an over-the-counter preparation for yeast, but if your symptoms continue you will need to contact a provider for an evaluation.
