A member asked:

Why does a rise in the total peripheral resistance and cardiac rate increase the diastolic pressure more than it increases the systolic pressure?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Question: It doesn't always but in general the increase in peripheral resistance and decrease in duration of diastole will cause the diastolic pressure to increase along with the systolic but as diastole shortens relative to systole, the volume/resistance in the capillary beds will increase diastolic pressure relatively more
