Why do ophthalmologists dislike optometrists?

Do they?: Some optometrists want to be "primary eye doctors" and many ophthalmologists feel they are not qualified for this role. Also optometrists expand their legal role, not through demonstration of expertise, but through aggressive lobbying. Many think this is wrong.
