IgE in atopic dermatitis: Atopic dermatitis seems to involve both B cell production of IgE as well as T cell function in later phases.The antigens that affect the skin seem to make non-specific IgE production increase. We have recently recognize that staph aureus may be a trigger of the high IgE as there is IGE related to staph. This may drive the eczema even with minimal skin staph carriage rather than true impetigo
