A member asked:

Why am i allergic to so many things? what causes allergies?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Multifactorial: Allergies are associated with both environmental and genetic factors. Usually there are 2 phases to allergy, a sensitization phase and an effector phase. Sensitization usually occurs at one site (such as the skin, nose, lungs, or GI tract), then can spread to other sites once the body develops memory.
