A member asked:

Starting birth control zenchent, how many days is it normal to spot, and when should it become a concern? ie; 5 days before it subsides?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Spotting with BCP: is not unusual, esp after first starting and is most common in the 3rd week, could become fairly heavy and may then continue through the placebo pills until starting the next package. It can also cause early spotting, and duration may be variable. As long as it is light spotting and not heavy bleeding, continue to take meds daily on schedule and don't worry unless it continues into next month.
