Not a good idea: The better person to ask would be a trainer, all of whom believe that use of alcohol is bad for athletes, especially when they are training. Obviously, this depends on whether we are talking about an occasional beer the night before, or heavier drinking. Alcohol can damage muscles and nerves, and causes metabolic changes that do not promote healthy metabolism. Wouldn't do it.
