What is the difference between deuteranopia and protanopia?

Color blindness: Deuteranopia is the more common type of color blindness with loss of green sensitivity--present in 1% of males and does not dim the vision. Protanopia is less common and is more severe with loss of red sensitivity and some dimming of vision. Both are X-chromosome linked.
