Antibody formation: At the first transfusion, nothing happens, but the person generally makes antibodies to Rh antigen and may have a transfusion reaction at the subsequent transfusion with Rh positive blood. If it is a woman of reproductive age and the baby is Rh positive, the baby may get hemolysis.
