A member asked:

Can dehydration cause thrombocytosis?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Not really: It even raises the hemoglobin and hematocrit only a few percent. The most common cause of thrombocytosis is iron deficiency; no one knows why. Very high counts should prompt a workup. Best wishes.
