Antibiotics: Rifampicin (rifampin) and rifabutin are the two antibiotics that affect contraceptive implants. Rifampicin is used in treating TB and rifabutin is used in treating MAC (mycobacterium avian complex) infections associated with HIV. Other antibiotics do not affect contraceptive implants.
