Ovulation: Someties, during ovulation or egg release, you can have cramps and spotting. This usually lasts for a few days only. If it persists, you should see a doctor and do a pregnancy test.

Midcycle spotting: May be variation in period which occurs or can be vaginal infection or implantation bleeding (as one can have a period in early pregnancy). Check blood/ urine HCG follow up with doctor/urgent care.
