Normal mucous: sounds like cervical or vaginal mucous that is being affected by your estrogen levels. Causes mucous to be very stretchy and stringy. If no pain, fever, foul discharge then not to worry. Hopes this helps. Best of luck. Dr. R

"discharge" normal: Clear vaginal secretions are normal; they help moisten the vagina and prevent irritation, particularly during sex. Hormonal changes affect how stretchy the secretions are. Secretions are the most stretchy right around the time of ovulation. Not only is stretchy mucus a sign of ovulation, but sperm survive best in this type of mucus. I don't know why you had brown discharge. It happens!
