Consider Rx: Fitness is great, if you've got some extra fat try to lose it, but I'm betting you're going to need medication. And exercise is going to need to be more intense than walking. At age 46, there's no reason you can't give yourself a wonderful gift -- really get serious about exercise. Train for a triathlon. Best wishes.
