Leukopenia: A white blood cell count under 3500 is considered definitely low and can be seen with viral infection but also with autoimmune disease, bone marrow disorders, medications and chemical exposure. Some people have no serious problem causing the leukopenia as their white cell count stays unchanged for years and their red cell and platelet counts are normal. A hematologist is best qualified for you.
