A member asked:

Does herpes on inner thigh comes and goes away to last a days or weeks?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Ouch: With your other conditions, I would be sure you had herpes, and not contact dermatitis, before treating it as herpes. When untreated, the outbreak usually lasts for a couple of weeks. With modern, anti-HSV therapies, such as acyclovir, the outbreak can either be stopped, or shortened significantly in duration to 3-5 days, with much more mild symptoms.
