Not necessarily: Politely, a transabdominal US is highly insensitive for a 7 week pregnancy and could easily miss a fetus even in the best hands. A transvaginal ultrasound is the study of choice at 7 weeks, even a week earlier. Even in an extremely thin woman, transabdominal US is not a very good view so early. Hope this helps, good wishes.
