Yeast or STD: Itching, white discharge, swelling and discomfort are signs of vaginitis (vaginal irritation or infection), which can be caused by a yeast infection, bacterial imbalance, or a sexually transmitted disease. See your primary care doctor or gyn for an exam and testing to determine the cause. If you don't have a doctor of your own, your local planned parenthood or urgent care can help.

Symptoms of yeast: Be sure you have you been diagnosed with a 'yeast infection' in the past then you may self treat. Studies show 2/3 of women who self treat actually do not have a yeast infection. Many over-the-counter yeast creams are available: gyne-lotrimin, Mycelex (clotrimazole), gynezol /femstat (butoconazole) monistat (miconazole), vagistat-1 (tioconazole) usual course is 1-3 days hope you are better soon.
