DMDM safe??: DMDM is an additive to shampoo as a antimicrobial. It realeases formaldehyde and can cause an allergic contact dermatitis. At your stage of pregnancy the fetus is still forming all the structures so probably NOT a good idea for exposure but you must realize that very little if any will be absorbed from the brief exposure of a hair shampoo. I advise patients to avoid ANY chemical exposure.
