Ovulatory bleeding: Assuming your last period was normal, this is most likely spotting associated with a small dip in your hormones that occurs at the time of ovulation. It is always prudent to do a pregnancy test when you have abnormal bleeding, but if that is negative, this is not likely to be worrisome
