Who should take the areds formulation?

People with AMD: The areds formulation was developed for people who either have, or at risk for age related macular degeneration. It is not curative; however studies are being done to determine the efficacy of their use.

People with AMD: The areds and areds 2 studies looked at patients with macular degeneration. If you have macular degeneration, you should take areds vitamins. Similarly, many feel that if you are at risk for macular degeneration you should also take them. These vitamins haven't been shown to reduce risk of cataracts or glaucoma, but antioxidants such as these have been shown to be helpful in some studies for these.
