After specific tasks: In new york state, workers are required to wash their hands after: taking out the garbage, clearing tables or busing dirty dishes, touching soiled aprons or clothing, touching anything that may contaminate the hands, sneezing, coughing or using a tissue, smoking, eating, drinking or chewing gum, using any cleaning chemicals, using the restroom, handling raw food, touching hair, face or body.
