Yes: Swelling in the arm is to be expected. If you have swelling elsewhere, report it to your doctor.

Pretty normal: Hi. Ouch, you poor thing! Yes pain and swelling are quite to be expected 4 days after the surgery. Was it a low trauma fracture? If yes, consider asking your doc to get a bone densitometry study (DXA, DEXA). If it was a high trauma appropriate fracture, disregard that. Keep the arm elevated to help reduce the swelling. Take your pain meds; if you have constipation with them, take psyllium and/or s
