No, it just seems so: The brain has many functions that go on behind the scene of consciousness. Maintaining autonomic processes like heart, digestion, breathing, plus all senses and movements, etc go on even if you stop thinking for awhile. Thinking may indeed shut down for some in that moment - but for others, even that continues.
