A member asked:

What do i need to know about my son's genomics. he is a donor child.?

Helpful information: The family history is helpful when a disease with known genetic implications may be involved.Disorders like huntington's disease are worrisome since it only takes one gene for expression & a donor could pass it. Of lesser impact are polygene issues like heart defects, asthma & diabetes. Most donor centers screen the family history & reject problem donors. Some may or may not release their info.
