Contact lenses: How long? Eyes need oxygen. Keeping contacts (not the extended wear contacts) in for too long can lead to swelling and blurred vision. Some blood vessels may develop in the cornea that could hamper vision eventually. Corneal sensitivity could decrease & ^ risk for abrasions. There is an increased risk for infections as well.
