Rh negative: If a woman is Rh negative, and the father of her baby is Rh positive, there is a good chance that their baby will be Rh positive. When a Rh neg mom carries a Rh pos baby, there is a good chance that at some point during the pregnancy, their blood will mix and cause the mom's blood to make antibodies which attack the babies blood causing anemia. Mom's take rhogam to prevent this.
