A member asked:

What kind of risk factors are there for the child when a teen is pregnant?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Complex question!: Infants of teens are at risk for preterm delivery, low birth-weight, and have higher rates of neonatal or infant death, and there are social & behavioral outcomes that are related to teen pregnancy. However, this question deserves an answer that's longer than a small blurb on a web page allows--if you're a pregnant teen or know one, you should make an appt with your doc to talk about these risks.
