A member asked:

What is erythroid hyperplasia? what causes it?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Usually RBC loss: Bone marrow has precursor cells for mature blood cells. The precursors for red cells are called erythroid cells. These cells multiply to produce more red cells. The multiplication process is called hyperplasia. It occurs when body tries to make up for lost red cells. Lost by bleeding or excessive destruction by hemolysis.
