Pain: Darvocette was the combination of d-propoxyphene and paracetamol (or acetominophen/ tylenol (acetaminophen)). While a synthetic opioid closely related to methadone, it was nowhere near as potent or effective as methadone, and many critics felt that it was the tylenol (acetaminophen) that actually worked in it. After reports of cardiac toxicity (arrhythmias) it was removed from the US market years ago. Still available elsewhere.
