A member asked:

What genes are responsible for an increased risk of certain cancers?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Many genes are invol: Cancer being a disease of genes, it involved multiple genes...upwards of 10-70. Sio we do not yet have a good handle in finding who is at increased risk except for a few hereditary cancers like Breast Cancer where one gene called BRCA has been identified as the culprit. But it is advised to be checked only in certain cases of Breast Cancer or Ovarian cancer, such as Cancer occuring in women
